Energy efficiency

We reduce the energy consumption in buildings with an adequate design, using technologies and products that use less energy than the standard. Our strategies are:

Design. Passive methods to reduce or increase heating from solar radiation:

  • Size and orientation of closed or open porches.
  • Strategically placement of windows for cross ventilation to minimize the use of air conditioning.
  • Landscaping with native plants that require minimal watering.
  • Planting trees for shade.

Insulation:

  • Energy efficient windows with thermal break and solar control glass.
  • Increased insulation for external walls, floors and ceilings.

Low temperature heat pump:

  • This system uses 75% of the energy from the air (removable) and only 25% from electricity for air conditioning and underfloor heating.
  • We combine heat pumps with solar panels to increase savings in hot water

Solar panels:
• Production up to 70% of hot water for the house.

Reduction of electricity and water consumption:


•EcoSmart wash basins and showers.
• Energy consumption control by computer systems.
• LED Lighting.

Energy saving domestic appliances

Heat recovery ventilation (HRV):

  • We reduce up to 20% of the consumption from heating and air conditioning.
  • The filters of the system obtain purified air: an ideal solution to prevent allergies.
  • HRV increases acoustic and thermic comfort as it is not necessary to open windows to ventilate

To sum up, all the houses we build are granted with A or B energy efficiency certificates.

A 90% of new buildings obtain a certificate C for energy efficiency but all our buildings are granted with A or B energy efficiency certificates, that represent energy savings of up to 70%. This is the highest in our national energy qualification system.
